Most tobacco liquids use synthetic aromas and a touch of sweetener to make the result appealing. Montreal Original extracts tobacco aromas using reverse osmosis instead. The process originally comes from the Canadian cannabis industry and was adapted for e-liquids after legalization in 2018: the aroma molecules are extracted directly from the tobacco, leaving residues behind. The result is drier, more direct, and significantly less sweet than usual. Sucralose and added sugar are deliberately omitted – which also generally keeps the coils clean for longer. The recipes are created in Canada and bottled in France.
