Camacho Ecuador Toro – a cigar in three chapters
The Ecuador line is the most multifaceted in the Camacho range. Camacho explicitly describes its progression in thirds, and this is no marketing gimmick: the cigar tastes different at the beginning than in the middle and yet again different at the end. With the Toro measuring 15.2 cm and ring gauge 50, you have around 60 minutes to experience this.
What does the Ecuador Toro taste like?
In the first third, wood, earth, and fresh spice are in the foreground. The second third becomes noticeably smoother and brings caramel, cream, and nuts. In the final third, the profile turns again and ends with pepper, floral notes, and citrus fruits. This three-part journey makes the line the most interesting, but also the most demanding of the house.
The construction
The wrapper comes from Ecuador, while the binder is a Corojo Seco from Honduras. The filler is exceptionally broad, featuring four tobaccos from three countries: Corojo 99 Seco and Criollo Volado from Honduras, Corojo 99 Ligero from Nicaragua, and a Pennsylvania Ligero from the USA. The American Ligero in particular is rare in this price range and explains the strong finish in the final third.
